| The white wooly hairs on the rabbitbrush (Chrysothamnus nauseosus) give the plant a ghostly appearance under this gloomy December sky. The dense brush could provide protection from predators and weather for the pigmy rabbit, but that elusive rodent has not been observed on the refuge. |
