| New yarrow stems came up amidst senescent remnants of earlier growth along the new loop trail. The plant named for Archilles, has been known for centuries as having medicinal value. Crushed leaves were used to stop bleeding and hasten healing of wounds. The crushed leaves have a distinctive odor and the dried "minty" leaves were used in tea. |
