| Tough durable grass grows on sand dunes at post marker "C" on the new trail loop. Farming in the area before the completion of McNary Dam in the 1950s caused the sand to collect in this area. Farmstead cottonwood trees appear to have anchored the sand and prevented it from blowing further west. |
